Job Overview

Express Employment Professionals is hiring an experienced Manual Machinist for a custom machine and metal fabrication shop in the Salem area. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working independently, interpreting technical information, and producing accurate, high-quality parts.

Responsibilities

  • Operate Laguna mills, manual lathes, key seaters, grinders, and radial drill presses
  • Machine, repair, and modify custom metal components
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and work orders
  • Set up machines and properly secure workpieces
  • Use micrometers, calipers, gauges, and other precision measuring tools
  • Select appropriate tooling, feeds, speeds, and machining methods
  • Inspect finished parts and make adjustments as needed
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area

Qualifications

  • Previous manual machining experience required
  • Experience operating manual mills and lathes
  • Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings
  • Knowledge of machining processes, tooling, feeds, and speeds
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently
  • Reliable attendance and strong work ethic
