Yard Forklift Driver

Job Summary
The Yard Forklift Driver is responsible for safely operating forklifts to move, load, unload, stack, and organize materials (pipe) within the yard. This position ensures efficient material flow, maintains inventory accuracy, and follows all safety regulations and company procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate forklifts safely to transport materials, products, and equipment throughout the yard and facility.
• Load and unload trucks, trailers, and containers.
• Move materials to designated storage, staging, or production areas.
• Stack and organize inventory according to company procedures.
• Inspect forklifts daily and report maintenance or safety issues.
• Conduct routine equipment safety checks and maintain operating logs.
• Assist with inventory counts and verify shipping and receiving documentation.
• Keep yard areas clean, organized, and free from hazards.
• Follow all OSHA regulations, company safety policies, and standard operating procedures.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors, dispatchers, and warehouse personnel regarding material movement and work priorities.
• Assist with general yard duties as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Valid forklift certification or ability to obtain certification.
• Previous forklift, warehouse, yard, or material-handling experience required.
• Knowledge of safe loading, unloading, and stacking practices of pipe.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Strong attention to detail and safety awareness.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, and climb throughout the workday.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds as needed.
• Capable of working in outdoor environments, including heat, cold, and inclement weather.
• Ability to operate forklifts and material-handling equipment for extended periods.
