Apartment Maintenance Technician – Temporary Assignment

 

Location: Gainesville, FL

 

Pay: $19.00–$22.00 per hour, depending on experience

 

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.

 

Assignment Length: Minimum of 3–4 weeks, with the possibility of continuing longer

 

Start Date: Monday, August 24, 2026

 

A local property management company is seeking an experienced Apartment Maintenance Technician to assist with maintenance and repair needs across several Gainesville-area apartment communities.

The ideal candidate will have well-rounded apartment, residential, or facilities maintenance experience. Strong HVAC knowledge is highly preferred. The individual does not need to be a certified HVAC professional but should be comfortable troubleshooting air-conditioning systems, diagnosing common problems, and completing basic repairs within their experience level.

 

Primary Responsibilities

• Complete apartment maintenance and service requests
• Troubleshoot and perform basic repairs involving HVAC systems
• Assist with plumbing, electrical, appliance, carpentry, drywall, painting, and general property repairs
• Prepare vacant apartments for new residents
• Perform preventive maintenance and identify needed repairs
• Travel between local properties as directed
• Communicate professionally with property staff and residents
• Maintain a clean and safe work area
• Complete other property maintenance duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Previous apartment, residential, hotel, or facilities maintenance experience
• Working knowledge of HVAC systems and the ability to diagnose common air-conditioning issues strongly preferred
• General knowledge of plumbing, electrical, appliances, painting, drywall, and carpentry
• Ability to work independently and manage assigned service requests
• Dependable attendance and professional communication
• Valid driver’s license, reliable personal vehicle, and ability to travel between Gainesville properties
• Ability to perform the physical duties associated with property maintenance
• Basic hand tools are helpful, although additional tools can be provided if needed

Dress Code

 

Khaki pants or shorts with a blue work shirt. A company-branded shirt may be provided based on availability.
