Spanish / English Interpreter 

Job Summary: Primary purpose of this position is to provide Spanish interpreting services in a local health agency in order to be able to better serve the Hispanic population in understanding services offered and/or performed. You will be assisting the medical staff in providing care to this population with the primary goal of removing the language barrier throughout the visit.

 

Job Highlights

• You will assist with check in, all facets of medical visit, and check out for the those patients with little or no English. 
• Accurately translate medical information to and from the patient. 
• Could be called upon to assist with phone calls as well. 
• explicit accuracy will be essential in interpretation of finds, in the need for referrals, and in documentation of the care
• Interact with both patient and medical staff
• You will use your skills to elicit cooperation, trust, and confidence with clients, public

What We Are Looking For:

• Fluent in Spanish & English (verbal and written) with the ability to learn healthcare terminology quickly. 
• Familiar w/  HIPPA Requirements and Compliance 
• Must be comfortable working closely with staff and clients, regardless of background or needs being addressed.
• Personable and enjoy helping people
• Confidentiality is a MUST
• Mental concentration is essential
