Job description:

We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to oversee daily manufacturing operations and ensure the safe, efficient, and profitable execution of production activities. This leadership position is responsible for coordinating people, processes, and resources to meet production schedules, quality standards, customer expectations, and financial objectives.

The ideal candidate will have strong manufacturing leadership experience, a proven ability to manage cross-functional teams, and a track record of improving productivity, efficiency, safety, quality, and profitability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day manufacturing operations to ensure production and business goals are achieved.
  • Coordinate activities across Production, Quality, Planning & Scheduling, Maintenance, Safety, Supply Chain, Shipping, and Receiving.
  • Monitor and manage key performance indicators (KPIs), including productivity, efficiency, quality, on-time delivery, labor utilization, safety, and cost performance.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve operational efficiency, production performance, and profitability.
  • Provide daily operational updates and weekly performance reports to the General Manager.
  • Lead, train, develop, and support production teams to maximize performance and achieve company goals.
  • Oversee end-to-end supply chain activities, including procurement and vendor relationships.
  • Oversee shipping and receiving, warehousing, supplier deliveries and pickups, and shipment of finished goods.
  • Review production schedules and resource requirements to ensure customer commitments and deadlines are met.
  • Ensure weekly and monthly production schedules are achieved with a strong focus on on-time delivery.
  • Partner with the Production Manager to achieve budgeted job costs and labor-hour targets.
  • Lead regular production and operations meetings to review performance, priorities, and potential issues.
  • Support workforce planning, staffing, training, performance management, and employee development.
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, cost control, and operational planning.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, customer requirements, safety standards, and applicable regulations.
  • Lead safety initiatives and promote a strong culture of workplace safety.
  • Identify and resolve operational issues affecting production, quality, cost, or delivery.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to optimize processes, workflow, productivity, and profitability.
  • Promote and uphold company Core Values and standards of professional conduct.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Manufacturing, Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field preferred.
  • 5+ years of manufacturing leadership experience required.
  • Proven experience managing manufacturing or production operations.
  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems.
  • Strong knowledge of production planning, scheduling, supply chain, quality, and manufacturing processes.
  • Experience managing and developing teams in a production environment.
  • Strong leadership and decision-making abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with budgeting, cost controls, labor utilization, and operational performance preferred.
  • Strong understanding of workplace safety and quality requirements.
  • Continuous improvement or Lean Manufacturing experience is a plus.
