Environment Health and Safety Utility 1st Shift

A local manufacturing company is searching for an Environmental Health and Safety Utility tech for their 1st shift.
The ideal candidate will assist with recycling & waste management. Collect, transport, consolidate, and stage corrugate, wood pallets, scrap wood, and other designated recyclable materials throughout the facility. Operate balers, compactors, forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material-handling equipment as authorized. Ensure all recyclable materials are properly sorted, labeled, stored, and prepared for disposal or vendor pickup. Maintain designated recycling and waste collection areas in a safe and organized condition. Coordinate with waste and recycling vendors to facilitate pickups and container management. Monitor recycling volumes and report issues related to contamination, overflow, or improper disposal practices. Support company sustainability and waste-reduction initiatives. Safety Support. Conduct routine safety and housekeeping inspections throughout the facility. Identify and report unsafe conditions, behaviors, and environmental concerns. Assist with maintaining safety signage, waste labels, floor markings, and collection areas. Promote good housekeeping practices and adherence to safety procedures. Support incident investigations, corrective actions, and safety programs as directed. Maintain accurate records related to waste disposal, recycling activities, and inspections.
Required Experience: Prior manufacturing, warehouse, recycling, or material handling experience preferred. Ability to safely operate material-handling equipment or obtain certification upon hire. Basic computer and recordkeeping skills. Ability to work independently.
Full Time Evaluation Hire Position
M-F 5:00 am - 1:30 pm
$17.00 / hour
