Role Summary

To support quality assurance and material handling operations in a structural steel fabrication environment. This role is responsible for inspecting fabricated parts, verifying work against blueprints and specifications, maintaining organized inventory, and assisting with material movement throughout the shop.

Key Responsibilities

• Read and interpret fabrication drawings, blueprints, and shop plans to verify part accuracy
• Perform inspections of steel components and assemblies to ensure compliance with project specifications and quality standards
• Conduct dimensional checks using measuring tools and inspection equipment
• Identify and document defects, discrepancies, or non-conforming materials
• Inspect weld quality and verify compliance with drawings and fabrication requirements
• Operate a forklift to move materials, load/unload trucks, and support shop operations
• Organize and track inventory, parts, and incoming materials
• Maintain inspection records and communicate quality concerns to production personnel
• Support a safe, clean, and efficient work environment

Qualifications

• Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints, fabrication drawings, and specifications
• Experience in quality control, steel fabrication, welding, or manufacturing environments
• Forklift experience required
• Knowledge of structural steel components and fabrication processes preferred
• Ability to inspect welds and identify common welding defects highly preferred
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to work independently and communicate effectively with production teams
