General Labor Associate – Distribution Center

Pay: $20.00/hour
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7am-3:30pm
Location: Sycamore, IL

Express Employment Professionals is looking for dependable General Labor Associates to join a busy distribution center on 1st shift. This is a hands-on position involving shipping, receiving, order fulfillment, material handling, and general warehouse duties.

Job Duties:

  • Process customer orders and prepare products for shipment.
  • Use barcode scanners and other warehouse equipment.
  • Load and unload trucks.
  • Receive incoming inventory and verify quantities.
  • Move, organize, and stock materials throughout the facility.
  • Package shipments using shrink wrap, banding, and proper stacking techniques.
  • Operate pallet jacks and powered industrial equipment as needed.
  • Assist with shipping paperwork and documentation.
  • Maintain accurate inventory and follow work instructions.
  • Follow all safety and quality procedures.
  • Keep the work area clean and organized.
  • Work as part of a team to meet daily productivity and shipping goals.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Previous warehouse, distribution, manufacturing, or general labor experience is helpful.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Basic computer and data-entry skills are a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality are required.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Forklift or powered industrial truck experience is a plus.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand and walk for most of the shift.
  • Frequent bending, reaching, squatting, and lifting.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to push and pull materials and operate warehouse equipment.
  • Comfortable working in a warehouse environment with varying temperatures, noise, dust, and odors.
