Industrial Sewing Machine Operator

Location: McAllen, TX

Pay: $13.50 per hour

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM–4:30 PM; Saturdays as needed

Express Employment Professionals is hiring experienced Industrial Sewing Machine Operators for a local awning manufacturing company in McAllen, TX. This position involves sewing heavy-duty fabric weighing up to 50 lbs used to manufacture custom awnings for residential and commercial customers.

Job Duties:

• Comfortable lifting/bending often and moving large and heavy rolls of fabric weighing up to 50 lbs
• Operate industrial sewing machines to sew heavy-duty fabric and awning materials
• Read work orders and follow production specifications
• Measure, mark, and cut fabric to the required size
• Thread machines and perform basic maintenance such as changing needles
• Inspect finished products for quality and accuracy
• Maintain a clean and organized work area
• Follow safety procedures and production standards

Requirements:

• Minimum 6 months of industrial sewing machine experience required
• Experience with heavy-duty fabrics or industrial sewing preferred
• Ability to measure and perform basic math
• Basic computer skills
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. of material
• Strong attention to detail and hand-eye coordination
• Reliable and able to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
