Express Employment Professionals are currently recruiting for a Drafter / Cabinet Design & Quote Specialist on behalf of a valued client in Newberg, Oregon. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented professional with drafting experience and SolidWorks knowledge to join a growing company specializing in custom cabinetry. This position offers the opportunity for permanent placement within approximately 90 days.

Position Summary

The Drafter / Cabinet Design & Quote Specialist works closely with sales representatives, customers, and the cabinet shop team to design custom cabinetry solutions. This role is responsible for creating 3D cabinet drawings, preparing customer quotes, and translating designs into manufacturing-ready programs.

Key Responsibilities

• Create detailed 3D cabinet designs using SolidWorks
• Develop and revise customer quotes as needed
• Communicate directly with customers and sales representatives regarding project specifications
• Design custom cabinetry solutions to meet customer requirements
• Assist customers in identifying installation requirements and specifications
• Coordinate with customer service to ensure accurate order entry
• Translate 3D drawings into Computer-Aided Manufacturing (CAM) programs
• Run simulations and tests to verify program accuracy
• Prepare geometric layouts using software such as Ongaa Cam, Cut Rite, and Wood Wop (preferred)
• Collaborate with the cabinet shop to ensure proper construction and assembly of custom cabinets

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent experience preferred
• Minimum 1 year of mechanical drafting experience preferred
• Proficiency with SolidWorks (2013 through current versions)
• Ability to accurately read and interpret blueprints
• Strong mathematical skills, including algebra, trigonometry, and physics
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong reading comprehension and listening skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
• Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Physical Requirements

• Ability to sit for extended periods while working at a computer workstation

Compensation

• $22.00 to $31.00 per hour, depending on experience
• Temp-to-hire opportunity with potential for permanent placement after 90 days
