Machine Maintenance Technician

Express Employment Professionals is currently recruiting for a Machine Maintenance Technician in Lenexa, KS. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced industrial maintenance professional with hands-on experience repairing injection molding or extruder compounding machinery.

Position Details

• Job Title: Machine Maintenance Technician

• Pay: $29.00–$30.00/hour
• Initial Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–3:00 PM
• Long-Term Schedule: Transition to a 12-hour rotating shift after initial training
• Employment Type: Full-Time
• Work Environment: Industrial manufacturing facility

Job Duties

• Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain injection molding and extruder compounding machinery.
• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on manufacturing equipment.
• Diagnose mechanical issues and make necessary repairs to minimize equipment downtime.
• Troubleshoot electrical systems and industrial equipment.
• Assist with PLC troubleshooting and controls-related maintenance.
• Work with vacuum systems and related equipment.
• Inspect machinery and equipment to identify potential maintenance issues.
• Follow established safety procedures and maintenance protocols.
• Maintain accurate records of repairs, maintenance activities, and equipment issues.
• Work safely at heights when performing maintenance or repairs.
• Collaborate with production and maintenance team members to keep equipment operating efficiently.

Requirements

• Experience repairing injection molding or extruder compounding machinery is highly preferred and is the top qualification for this position.
• Previous industrial manufacturing maintenance experience required.
• Strong mechanical troubleshooting and repair skills.
• Ability to troubleshoot and work with electrical systems.
• PLC experience is a plus.
• Experience with vacuum systems is a plus.
• Comfortable working at heights.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English.
• Bilingual English/Spanish skills are a plus.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong attention to safety and detail.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate will have hands-on industrial maintenance experience and a strong background troubleshooting injection molding or extruder compounding equipment. Candidates who also have experience with electrical systems, PLCs, and vacuum systems will be especially well-suited for this opportunity.

Schedule & Training

The selected candidate will initially work Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM–3:00 PM for the first few weeks to become familiar with the facility, equipment, and processes.

After the initial training period, the position will transition to a 12-hour rotating shift based on operational needs. Candidates must be comfortable with the rotating schedule.
