Patient Financial Services Representative – Hospital Billing

Location: Colfax, WA
Pay: $22.00–$25.00/hour DOE
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–4:00 PM OR 8:00 AM–5:00 PM

Are you experienced in customer service, medical billing, patient accounts, or healthcare administration and looking for a stable Monday–Friday opportunity? We are seeking a Patient Financial Services Representative to support the billing and reimbursement department of a regional healthcare organization in Colfax, WA.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is organized, comfortable working with detailed financial information, and enjoys helping patients navigate questions regarding healthcare bills and insurance coverage. Hospital billing and Epic experience are highly preferred.

What You'll Do

• Serve as a primary point of contact for patient billing, insurance, payment, and financial responsibility questions
• Assist patients with payment arrangements, financial assistance, charity care, estimates, and prepayments
• Monitor patient accounts, accounts receivable, and follow-up work queues through final resolution
• Research and resolve insurance denials, eligibility issues, coordination of benefits, and payer requests
• Utilize Epic HB to manage work queues, document patient accounts, and investigate billing or reimbursement issues
• Maintain accurate, compliant billing practices while supporting audits, payer reviews, and collaboration with Patient Financial Services and Patient Access teams

What We're Looking For

Required

• High school diploma or GED
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• Strong computer and data-entry skills
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
• Ability to work accurately with detailed and confidential information

Highly Preferred

• Epic experience
• 1+ year of hospital or medical billing experience
• Understanding of patient benefits and hospital billing workflows
• Experience with insurance claims, denials, or reimbursement
• Experience handling payments, cash posting, or financial transactions
• Previous patient-facing healthcare or hospital experience
