Position Summary

The Procurement Manager provides strategic and operational leadership for procurement, inventory management, vendor relations, and supply chain functions. This role ensures the organization maintains uninterrupted access to quality supplies, equipment, materials, and services while optimizing costs, supporting patient care, and achieving organizational goals.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Procurement & Vendor Management

  • Develop and execute procurement strategies that support organizational, clinical, and financial objectives.
  • Establish and maintain strong vendor relationships and negotiate contracts, pricing, rebates, and purchasing agreements to maximize value and cost savings.
  • Monitor supplier performance, address service or supply issues, and identify opportunities for process improvement and supply chain optimization.
  • Evaluate market trends, products, technologies, and sourcing opportunities to improve service, quality, and financial outcomes.
  • Develop and maintain procurement policies, procedures, and best practices to ensure consistency, compliance, accountability, and efficiency.

Procurement Operations & Financial Stewardship

  • Oversee daily procurement operations and procurement systems, including Envi, Advantien, and Intacct.
  • Ensure accurate purchasing, receiving, vendor onboarding, pricing maintenance, and cost center allocation.
  • Partner with Finance and departmental leaders to manage supply budgets, purchasing activities, inventory management, and invoice processes.
  • Develop reporting and analytics to monitor spending, vendor performance, cost savings, and operational effectiveness.
  • Lead initiatives to centralize purchasing, standardize products, leverage purchasing volume, and reduce organizational costs.
  • Ensure procurement activities comply with applicable healthcare, regulatory, and organizational requirements.

Inventory & Supply Chain Management

  • Provide oversight of inventory control, warehouse operations, shipping and receiving, storage, and distribution activities.
  • Ensure appropriate inventory levels are maintained to support patient care while minimizing waste, shortages, and excess inventory.
  • Maintain the accuracy and integrity of inventory systems and records.
  • Coordinate with vendors and internal stakeholders to ensure timely delivery and effective management of supplies, equipment, and materials.
  • Manage supply recalls and implement continuous improvements to inventory visibility, supply chain reliability, and operational efficiency.

Leadership & Team Development

  • Lead, develop, and support procurement staff, Materials Leads, and organizational purchasers.
  • Direct departmental workflow, staffing, priorities, and performance expectations.
  • Recruit, hire, onboard, coach, and evaluate team members while promoting accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Foster a service-oriented culture that supports clinical operations, financial stewardship, and organizational excellence.

 

Qualifications

Required

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum three (3) years of procurement, purchasing, supply chain, inventory management, vendor management, or related experience.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong organizational, communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to analyze purchasing data, manage budgets, and identify cost-saving opportunities.

Preferred

  • Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Accounting, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • Experience with Envi, Advantien, Intacct, or similar procurement and financial management systems.
  • Experience in healthcare procurement, materials management, or supply chain operations.
  • Prior leadership or supervisory experience.
