A third-generation sheet metal stamping company specializing in both short-run tooling and long-term production runs is seeking a Machine Operator – Trainee to join its team. We are committed to precision manufacturing, quality craftsmanship, workplace safety, and continuous improvement.

Summary: This is an excellent entry-level opportunity for someone with basic mechanical skills who is interested in developing their manufacturing and machinist skills. The successful candidate will receive hands-on training in machine operation and learn the fundamentals of running a press brake and drill press.

Responsibilities:

  • Load and position sheet metal parts into production machines.
  • Operate machine pushbuttons and controls according to established procedures.
  • Remove completed parts from machines.
  • Inspect parts for quality, accuracy, and defects.
  • Package finished parts according to production requirements.
  • Learn to safely operate a press brake and drill press.
  • Develop proper techniques for loading and unloading parts from machinery.
  • Follow all safety procedures, work instructions, and quality standards.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Assist with other production duties as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Basic mechanical aptitude and a willingness to learn.
  • Interest in developing machinist and manufacturing skills.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
  • Reliable, safety-conscious, and willing to learn new processes.
  • Previous manufacturing or machine operation experience is helpful but not required.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand and work on the production floor for extended periods.
  • Ability to regularly lift and handle parts and materials weighing approximately 30–40 pounds.
  • Ability to safely load and unload parts from production machinery.
