Express Employment Professionals is currently seeking a Part-time Shipping Department Assistant for a local fulfillment client. This position is ideal for a dependable and hardworking individual who enjoys hands-on work in a fast-paced warehouse environment.

Shift: 9:00am-5:30pm Monday & Tuesday, with optional Wednesday

Payrate: $22/hr

Responsibilities

• Pick and pack customer orders according to sales orders and shipping instructions.
• Assemble boxes and prepare packaging materials for shipment.
• Package parcel and pallet shipments using established shipping procedures.
• Prepare temperature-sensitive shipments, including icing products when required.
• Assist with preparing shipments for UPS, FedEx, and LTL freight carriers.
• Process, label, and stage shipments for daily pickup.
• Verify order accuracy before shipment.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shipping and staging area.
• Assist the Shipping Coordinator and support departmental operations as needed.
• Work collaboratively with team members to meet daily shipping deadlines.

Qualifications

• Reliable attendance and strong work ethic.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to follow written instructions and sales orders.
• Ability to lift, carry, and move items up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift throughout the workday.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Basic computer skills required.
• Experience with shipping, packing, warehouse operations, or order fulfillment is preferred but not required.
• Experience operating a pallet jack and/or forklift is a plus; training is available.
• Ability to safely use common shipping tools and materials, including tape guns and pallet wrap.
