Job Summary:  

This position will apply measurement science, mathematics, and physics to provide our client and its customers with reference equipment needed for calibration of products.

Essential duties and responsibilities:

  • Follow all safety rules and regulations, all work must be done thinking “Safety First”.
  • Execution of calibration and test procedures.
  • Receive, handle, and distribute test equipment for LWS offices and customers.
  • Manage chain of custody for calibration instruments and their related documentation.
  • Communicate and negotiate with vendors regarding desired calibration and repair services.
  • Communicate and negotiate with customers regarding approved calibration and repair services.
  • Amendment of calibration certificates.
  • Calibrate basic reference equipment.
  • Setup calibration benches and ESD safety equipment.
  • Management of internal server file structures in compliance with internal and external guidelines.
  • Perform measurement uncertainty analysis for primary/working standards and process instrumentation.
  • Perform periodic maintenance on test equipment including cleaning and minor adjustments. 
  • Train staff in the appropriate use of calibration equipment.
  • Work efficiently and effectively from home if approved by management.
  • Ability to work with and as a Team.
  • Get along with others, not create an offensive or hostile work environment.
  • Able to lift up to 40 pounds and 41+ pounds as a two-person lift.

Travel:

  • Travel may be required on rare occasion to other offices.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Excellent diagnostic skills for identifying problems in electro-mechanical systems.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from peers, managers, and personnel from various departments within the organization.
  • Moderate level of proficiency with personal computers. 
  • Excellent attention to details and accuracy.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands and arms, talk and hear.
  • Gathers and analyzes information skillfully.  Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner. 

Education and Experience:

2 year degree in STEM-related field and/or 3 years experience calibrating/servicing instruments.
