Shipping & Handling Specialist

Position Type: Temp-to-Hire

We are currently hiring Shipping & Handling Specialists for a busy distribution facility in Waukegan, IL. If you're dependable, motivated, and looking for steady hours with consistent overtime, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.  This role focuses on shipping operations, order picking, scanning inventory, and loading outbound trucks. Candidates with warehouse or distribution experience are encouraged to apply. Experience using FedEx shipping systems is a plus.

 

Responsibilities

• Pick and prepare customer orders for shipment
• Use RF scanners to accurately process inventory and orders
• Work with FedEx shipping systems and shipping documentation
• Load trucks safely and efficiently at the loading docks
• Verify shipments for accuracy
• Maintain a clean and organized work area
• Follow all warehouse safety procedures
• Assist with general warehouse duties as needed

 

Qualifications

• Previous warehouse, shipping, handling, or distribution experience preferred
• Experience using RF scanners required
• FedEx shipping experience is a plus
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly throughout the shift
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and move throughout the workday
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Reliable attendance and punctuality are essential
• Must be willing to work overtime on a regular basis

 

Schedule

Monday - Friday: 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Saturday (as needed): 7:00 AM - 11:00 AM, or 7:00 AM - 1:00 PM

Average Work Week: Approximately 53 hours
Overtime: Required and consistently available

 

Breaks

• Two paid 15-minute breaks
• One unpaid 30-minute lunch

 

Dress Code & Safety Equipment

 

Required:

• Work boots (steel-toe boots are acceptable)
• Shorts are permitted

Provided by Employer: Safety vest, Gloves,  Face mask
