Form Setup Technician
$22.00-$26.00/hour DOE Monday-Friday | 6:00 AM-2:30 PM Overtime available based on production needs
About the Role
We are seeking a hands-on Form Setup Technician to support the manufacturing of precast concrete products. This position plays a critical role in preparing, repairing, and modifying both steel and wood forms used throughout the production process.
The ideal candidate enjoys working with tools, has mechanical aptitude, and is comfortable in a manufacturing environment where attention to detail and teamwork are essential. This role combines elements of carpentry, fabrication, and production support while helping ensure forms are built accurately and ready for concrete placement.
What You'll Do
- Prepare and configure steel molds and form components for daily production
- Construct, repair, and modify wooden formwork and fixtures as needed
- Set up forms based on production schedules, specifications, and design drawings
- Measure and verify dimensions to ensure accuracy and quality standards are met
- Install, secure, adjust, and disassemble form components throughout the production process
- Utilize a variety of hand tools, power tools, and shop equipment safely and efficiently
- Perform basic welding and cutting to maintain or modify form systems
- Support production changeovers and setup activities across multiple work areas
- Work closely with manufacturing teams to meet production goals and deadlines
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment
- Follow company safety procedures, quality standards, and operational guidelines
Qualifications
We're looking for candidates who enjoy building, repairing, and working with their hands.
Preferred Experience:
- Manufacturing, construction, fabrication, precast concrete, or related industrial experience
- Basic carpentry skills and experience working with wood materials
- Welding and metalworking experience
- Ability to read a tape measure accurately and perform basic math calculations
- Experience using common shop tools and equipment
- Ability to interpret work instructions, blueprints, sketches, or production drawings
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
- High school diploma or equivalent is a plus
Physical Requirements
This is an active position that requires:
- Standing and moving throughout the workday
- Frequent bending, kneeling, crouching, climbing, and reaching
- Regular lifting, pushing, pulling, and carrying of materials up to 50 pounds
- Working in an industrial manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, dust, and changing temperatures
- Safe operation of tools and equipment while maintaining production expectations
Work Environment
This position is based within a precast concrete manufacturing facility and may require movement between production, fabrication, and carpentry areas throughout the day. Team members are expected to support setup, repair, and production activities while maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and productivity.
