Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and dependable CNC Machine Operator / Set-Up Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for setting up, operating, and monitoring CNC machinery to produce high-quality parts that meet customer and engineering specifications. This position requires strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to work safely in a fast-paced production environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC mills, lathes, and/or other machining equipment.
• Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and work instructions.
• Install and adjust tooling, fixtures, and machine offsets as required.
• Perform first-piece inspections and verify dimensions using precision measuring instruments.
• Monitor machine performance and make necessary adjustments to maintain quality standards.
• Conduct routine machine maintenance and keep equipment clean and organized.
• Troubleshoot machining and tooling issues to minimize downtime.
• Accurately complete production and quality documentation.
• Follow all company safety procedures and maintain a safe work environment.
• Work collaboratively with supervisors, programmers, quality personnel, and team members to meet production goals.

Qualifications

Required

• High school diploma or GED.
• Previous experience operating and setting up CNC machines.
• Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings.
• Proficiency with measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and indicators.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.

Preferred

• Experience with CNC programming and editing offsets.
• Experience with Fanuc, Haas, Mazak, Siemens, or similar controls.
