Express Employment Professionals is now hiring a full-time Yard Driver in Franklin, KY for Day Shift: 4:00am-4:00pm and 8:00am-8:00pm and Night Shift: 6:00pm-6:00am and 7:00pm-7:00am start time. Pay Rate: $21.00. Interested candidates should have two years or more experience operating tractor trailers, including the spotting of trailers in congested areas

Responsibilities of the Yard Driver:

• Responsible for the positioning 53-foot trailers at the distribution center docks and shuttling loaded trailers to a designated location for pick up by OTR drivers.
• Safely and efficiently operate a yard tractor to maneuver empty and loaded trailers about the distribution center yard.
• Accurately follow radioed instructions in order to position specifically designated trailers to the proper door location.
• Safe chocking of trailer and operation of trailer equipment including fifth wheel, dolly, breaks, lights, and refrigeration unit settings.
• Inspect yard tractor for damage or broken equipment.
• Report trailer damage or broken equipment.
• Accurately complete work completion reports and equipment damage reports as required.
• Clean and tidy the yard truck and work area
•  Such other duties about the trailer yard as may be assigned.
• Maintain a professional and cooperative demeanor with customer representatives at all times.
• Any other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements of the Yard Driver:

• High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
• Two years or more experience operating tractor trailers, including the spotting of trailers in congested areas

Physical Requirements of the Yard Driver:

• Lift 50 pounds
• Stand, bend, squat, and twist up to 12 hours
