Saw Operator

 Currently seeking an individual for the position of Saw Operator for a local Metal Fabrication company

Willing to train candidates with previous industrial and construction experience. Previous Metal Fabrication experience a plus

A Saw Operator is responsible for cutting metal materials—such as tube, pipe, bar stock, and structural steel—using band saws, cold saws, and other cutting equipment. This role ensures precise cuts, proper material preparation, and smooth workflow for downstream fabrication processes like welding, machining, and assembly.

Job Responsibilities:

     Saw Operation — Set up and operate band saws, cold saws, and abrasive saws to cut metal materials to specified lengths and tolerances.

• Complete pre-inspection equipment reports before each shift including Saws/Cranes/Forklifts and or any other equipment used
• Perform all tasks safely and as directed
• Comply with all workplace policies including health and safety
• Be a team player
• Perform all tasks in a professional, respectful manner
• Any other tasks that may be assigned by management
• Participate in all company directed training
• Responsible for selecting the correct material in order to saw cut customer orders as required
• Organize work to consistently meet established production and quality targets

Job Requirements:

• Grade 12 or equivalent
• May be required to work rotating shifts
• Ability to read, write and understand English
• Minimum two years of experience operating overhead cranes
• Previous experience with saw cutting
• Proficient in performing mathematical calculations with ability to read a tape measure/caliper
• Self motivated, results oriented
