Express Employment Professionals seeks a reliable and detail-oriented Classer (Quality Control Inspector) to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for inspecting and classifying logs and round stock to ensure compliance with ANSI, ASTM, and company quality standards. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and a commitment to maintaining quality and safety standards.

Compensation: $18.00 per hour

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM-5:00 PM

Key Responsibilities

• Inspect inbound logs for compliance with company quality standards.
• Classify and inspect round stock according to ANSI, ASTM, and company specifications.
• Verify the quality of purchased and processed materials.
• Accurately document inspection findings and classifications.
• Assist with finished product inspections as needed.
• Identify defects, inconsistencies, and quality concerns.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support operations.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of quality control, inspection, production, forestry, or related experience.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Ability to accurately read a tape measure.
• Clean background check.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Ability to read, understand, and follow safety and operating instructions.
• Strong attention to detail and hand-eye coordination.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Knowledge of forest products, wood species, and material defects, preferred
• Basic maintenance or mechanical knowledge, preferred

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform physical tasks for extended periods.
• Frequent repetitive use of hands and fingers.
• Ability to lift and move materials as required.
• Ability to maintain visual focus and attention to detail throughout the workday.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced industrial environment.
