Position Summary: The Turnaround Technician supports scheduled plant turnarounds, shutdowns, and maintenance projects by assisting with equipment inspection, repair, cleaning, testing, and maintenance activities. This position works closely with maintenance teams, contractors, and operations personnel to ensure turnaround projects are completed safely, efficiently, and on schedule.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Assist with plant shutdown and turnaround activities.
• Inspect, clean, repair, and maintain equipment and machinery.
• Perform equipment setup, teardown, and testing.
• Utilize hand and power tools safely and effectively.
• Follow all site safety policies, procedures, and permit requirements.
• Support maintenance crews with mechanical, electrical, and general labor tasks.
• Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, and completed work.
• Load, unload, stage, and transport materials and equipment as needed.
• Perform housekeeping duties to maintain a safe work environment.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members regarding project status and safety concerns.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Previous industrial, refinery, shipyard, manufacturing, or construction experience preferred.
• Ability to read and follow work instructions and safety procedures.
• Familiarity with industrial tools and equipment.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
• Ability to work overtime, weekends, and varying shifts during turnaround periods.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and climb for extended periods.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to work in outdoor environments and varying weather conditions.
• Must be able to wear required PPE, including hard hats, respirators, safety glasses, and steel-toed boots.

Preferred Certifications

• OSHA 10 or OSHA 30
• NCCER Credentials
• TWIC Card (where applicable)
• First Aid/CPR
• Confined Space and Fall Protection Training
