Temporary with Potential for Permanent Hire

 

Our client, a well-established manufacturing company in Mississauga, is seeking a Controller for a temporary opportunity with the potential to become a permanent position. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on finance professional who enjoys being actively involved in the day-to-day operations of the business and working closely with their team.

 

The ideal candidate will bring strong accounting and financial management experience, preferably within a manufacturing environment, and thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced setting. This role offers the chance to make an immediate impact while supporting the organization's financial operations and growth initiatives.

 

What We Offer

• $55/hr. + (Depending on experience)
• Onsite 5 days/week
• Monday to Friday 8:30am to 5pm
• Huge potential for permanent role, depending on performance and business needs

 

Key Responsibilities

• Partner with senior leadership to support business strategy and growth.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes.
• Prepare and present monthly financial reports, cash flow forecasts, and performance analysis.
• Oversee accounting operations, month-end and year-end close, and financial statement preparation.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and internal controls.
• Manage cash flow, banking relationships, payments, collections, and credit approvals.
• Supervise and develop finance and payroll staff.
• Coordinate external audits and act as the primary contact for auditors.
• Manage insurance policies, contracts, leases, and key corporate records.
• Identify and implement process and system improvements to enhance financial reporting and operations.
• Support inventory accounting and other operational finance activities.

 

 

Qualifications

• Degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA designation preferred
• Experience using accounting software (QuickBooks preferred)
• At least 5 years of finance/accounting experience in a manufacturing environment
• Knowledge of cost accounting and inventory management
• Understanding of GAAP or IFRS accounting standards
• Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Hands-on, detail-oriented approach with the ability to work independently
• Experience working with auditors and ensuring compliance with financial controls and regulations
