The Test Technician is an entry-level to early career position designed for individuals who are eager to build a career in electronics testing, troubleshooting, and manufacturing. Under the guidance of experienced technical staff and supervisors, the Test Technician performs functional testing, troubleshooting, and basic repair of solid-state motor control products and electronic assemblies at Company' Clearwater, FL facility. This role provides structured, hands-on training in electrical testing procedures, diagnostic techniques, product knowledge, quality standards, and safe manufacturing practices, establishing a solid foundation for career growth within our Production, Test, Engineering, and Operations teams.

Key Responsibilities

Testing & Diagnostic Operations

  • Perform functional testing of solid-state motor control products and electronic assemblies by following engineering drawings, test procedures, work instructions, and established manufacturing standards.
  • Operate electronic test equipment including oscilloscopes, digital multimeters, probes, and other diagnostic instruments to evaluate product performance.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation to support testing and troubleshooting activities.
  • Verify that completed products meet Company' quality and functional performance requirements prior to release.
  • Troubleshoot electronic assemblies and circuit boards to the component level to identify defects or performance issues.
  • Perform basic electrical repairs and component replacement as directed to restore product functionality.
  • Identify test failures, product discrepancies, or quality concerns and communicate findings to the appropriate personnel.
  • Complete assigned testing activities, maintaining Company' quality standards and production goals.

 

Documentation & Production Support

  • Accurately complete test records, production travelers, and required documentation.
  • Record troubleshooting results, repair activities, and product disposition in accordance with company procedures.
  • Manage multiple testing assignments while meeting production schedules and established deadlines.
  • Collaborate with Production, Quality, and Engineering teams to support product improvements and resolve technical issues.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Safety & Continuous Development

  • Follow all Company safety policies, work instructions, electrical safety requirements, and standard operating procedures.
  • Safely operate electronic test equipment and maintain a clean, organized, and efficient work area.
  • Actively participate in on-the-job training covering Company' products, testing procedures, troubleshooting techniques, quality standards, and workplace safety.
  • Demonstrate increasing technical proficiency, independence, efficiency, and problem-solving ability as skills and experience develop.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in compliance with 5S, OSHA, and Company safety standards.

Qualifications

Required

  • Associate's degree in Electronics Technology, Electrical Technology, or a related technical field; or a technical school diploma with equivalent hands-on training and experience.
  • Basic knowledge of electrical theory, electronic circuits, and troubleshooting principles.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, engineering drawings, and technical documentation.
  • Experience or willingness to learn the safe operation of electronic test equipment including digital multimeters, oscilloscopes, probes, and related diagnostic instruments.
  • Basic troubleshooting skills with the ability to identify and isolate faults in electronic assemblies to the component level.
  • Strong commitment to accuracy, quality, and following established testing procedures.
  • Basic computer skills for completing production documentation, test records, and work instructions.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Reliable, punctual, dependable transportation with a positive, team-oriented attitude and willingness to learn.
  • Ability to lift to 40 lbs., stand for extended periods, and work comfortably in an active manufacturing environment.

 

Preferred (not required)

  • Previous experience testing, troubleshooting, or repairing electronic assemblies or industrial equipment in a manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of electrical codes, industry standards, motor controls, or solid-state electronics. electronics testing, industrial controls, and electrical engineering.
  • Experience working with 480 VAC systems, medium-voltage equipment, or industrial electrical systems.
  • Familiarity with quality systems, production documentation, and manufacturing processes.

 

Certifications & Training

Company values quality credentials but does not require prior certification for this entry-level role. Candidates who bring relevant certifications from previous work experience or schooling are encouraged to highlight them, and Company provides structured training and supports Level 1 Technicians in earning industry-recognized certifications as they grow.

Work Environment

This is a hands-on, production floor-based role within Company' climate-controlled manufacturing facility in Clearwater, FL. The Test Technician works under the guidance of experienced technical staff in an active electronics manufacturing environment, performing functional testing, troubleshooting, and basic repair of solid-state motor control products using specialized electronic test equipment. The role involves working near energized electrical equipment and test stations while following established electrical safety procedures. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including safety glasses and other required safety equipment, is provided. Noise levels are quiet to moderate.

Compensation & Benefits

This position is temporary to permanent. Competitive entry-level hourly rate; starting range $21.00–$23.00 depending on background and experience. Daytime shift with potential for overtime when workload requires. Upon full-time hire, we offer a comprehensive benefits package including:
