Electronic Assembler (Small Units)  

Position Summary

The Assembler is an entry-level position designed for individuals who are eager to build a career in electronics manufacturing. Under the guidance of experienced production staff and supervisors, the Assembler performs hands-on assembly of solid-state motor control products, building finished units from heat sink to completed assembly at Company' Clearwater, FL facility. This role provides structured, hands-on training in assembly techniques, product knowledge, quality standards, and safe manufacturing practices, establishing a strong foundation for career growth within our Production and Operations team.

Key Responsibilities

 

Assembly Operations (with supervision)

  • Assemble products heat sink to completed assembly under the guidance of experienced production staff, using procedures, diagrams, assembly drawings and pictures.
  • Install and connect electrical and mechanical components including heat sinks, sockets, faceplates, relays, capacitors, transistors, integrated circuits, and other assembly hardware according to work instructions.
  • Twist, bend, trim, strip, crimp, and route wires while ensuring proper placement and secure connections.
  • Insert color-coded wiring into designated locations and complete assembly tasks in accordance with engineering drawings and production documentation.
  • Use hand tools, power tools, wire crimpers, impact wrenches, and other approved assembly equipment safely and effectively.

 

Product Quality & Workmanship

  • Follow assembly work instructions, engineering drawings, and production travelers to ensure products are built accurately and consistently.
  • Perform visual inspections throughout the assembly process to verify proper component installation, wiring, labeling, and overall workmanship.
  • Identify assembly discrepancies, damaged components, or quality concerns and notify the Production Supervisor for review.
  • Assist with correcting minor assembly issues as directed while maintaining Company' quality standards.
  • Complete assigned work accurately while maintaining productivity goals.

 

Documentation & Production Support

  • Record required production information and report material shortages, damaged parts, or production issues to the appropriate personnel.
  • Maintain organized workstations, tools, and materials to support efficient production flow.
  • Assist with inventory movement and material staging as needed to support manufacturing operations.
  • Support cross-functional production activities and assist other departments when required.

 

 

 

Learning & Development

  • Actively participate in on-the-job training covering Company' products, assembly techniques, quality standards, and workplace safety requirements.
  • Develop working knowledge of Company' solid-state motor control products and manufacturing processes.
  • Learn to read and interpret engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, bills of materials, and assembly work instructions.
  • Build proficiency in the safe operation and proper use of assembly tools and equipment.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in compliance with 5S, OSHA, and Company safety standards.
  • Demonstrate increasing independence, efficiency, accuracy, and craftsmanship as skills and experience develop.

 

Qualifications

Required

  • High school diploma or GED with 1–3 years of experience in manufacturing, production assembly, or a related industrial environment; recent technical school or community college graduates are encouraged to apply.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude with the ability and willingness to learn electronic assembly techniques and manufacturing processes.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, assembly diagrams, work instructions, and production travelers.
  • Experience or willingness to safely use hand tools, power tools, wire crimpers, impact wrenches, and other small assembly equipment.
  • Committed to producing high-quality work while following established procedures.
  • Basic computer skills for completing production documentation and work records.
  • Reliable, punctual, dependable transportation with a positive, team-oriented attitude and willingness to learn.
  • Ability to lift to 40 lbs., stand for extended periods, and work comfortably in an active manufacturing environment.

 

Preferred (not required)

  • Associate's degree, technical certificate, or coursework in Electronics Technology, Electromechanical Technology, Manufacturing Technology, Industrial Technology, or a related field.
  • Previous experience assembling electronic or electromechanical products in a manufacturing environment.
  • Familiarity with wiring, crimping, component installation, or interpreting basic electrical schematics.
  • Interest in electronics manufacturing, solid-state motor controls, or industrial equipment assembly.

 

Certifications & Training

Company values quality credentials but does not require prior certification for this entry-level role. Candidates who bring relevant certifications from previous work experience or schooling are encouraged to highlight them.

Work Environment

This is a hands-on, production floor-based role within Company' climate-controlled manufacturing facility in Clearwater, FL. The Assembler works under the guidance of experienced production staff in an active electronics manufacturing environment, assembling solid-state motor control products using hand and power tools. ESD (electrostatic discharge) precautions are required throughout the production area. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including safety glasses and ESD wrist straps, is provided. Noise levels are quiet to moderate.

Compensation & Benefits

This position is temporary to permanent. Competitive entry-level hourly rate; starting range $18.00–$22.00 depending on background and experience. Daytime shift with potential overtime when workload requires. Upon full-time hire, we offer a comprehensive benefits package including:
