Wheel Loader Operator

Job Summary
Dependable and safety-focused Wheel Loader Operator with experience in the ready-mix concrete industry. Skilled in operating heavy equipment to load and transport aggregates, sand, gravel, and other raw materials used in concrete production. Mechanically inclined with the ability to perform equipment inspections, identify mechanical issues, troubleshoot operational problems, and assist with preventative maintenance to minimize downtime and maintain plant productivity.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate wheel loaders to load aggregate bins, stockpile materials, and maintain a steady supply of materials for concrete production.
• Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections of equipment.
• Monitor equipment condition and promptly report mechanical or safety concerns.
• Conduct routine maintenance tasks including greasing, fluid checks, filter inspections, and minor repairs.
• Assist maintenance personnel with equipment troubleshooting and repairs as needed.
• Maintain clean and organized aggregate storage areas and plant grounds.
• Adhere to all company safety policies, DOT regulations, and environmental requirements.
• Support plant operations to ensure efficient concrete production and customer delivery schedules.
• Operate additional heavy equipment as required.

Qualifications

• Experience operating wheel loaders or similar heavy equipment.
• Mechanically inclined with knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and heavy equipment components.
• Ability to recognize equipment malfunctions and perform basic troubleshooting.
• Strong understanding of workplace safety procedures.
• Reliable attendance and ability to work in varying weather conditions.
• Experience in construction materials, aggregate production, or ready-mix concrete operations preferred.
