$26.00/hour

SCHEDULE:

• Seasonal position
• 12-hour shifts
• Start time: 1:00 AM
• Current logging road operations expected through approximately October 15
• Schedule may adjust depending on fire activity and operational needs

 

ABOUT THE ROLE:

A local employer is seeking a dependable Water Tanker Driver to support logging road operations throughout Humboldt County. This position plays an important role in maintaining safe road conditions by operating a water tanker on active logging roads. There is also potential for additional work supporting CAL FIRE wildfire response operations, making this an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working hard, earning strong seasonal income, and being part of critical field operations.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Safely operate a commercial water tanker on logging roads
• Apply water to roadways to control dust and maintain road conditions
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
• Follow all safety regulations and company procedures
• Maintain accurate operational records as required
• Communicate effectively with supervisors and field personnel
• Support additional operational assignments as needed
• Potentially assist with fire-related operations when opportunities arise (may require travel for fire operations)

 

REQUIRED SKILLS:

• Safe operation of commercial tanker vehicles in rugged terrain
• Strong attention to safety and situational awareness
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Reliable attendance and punctuality
• Good communication and problem-solving skills
• Ability to adapt to changing work conditions and schedules

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Valid CDL Class A License required
• Tanker Endorsement required
• Clean driving record strongly preferred
• Experience operating water trucks, tanker trucks, logging equipment, or heavy vehicles preferred
• Experience working on logging roads or in forestry operations is a plus
• CAL FIRE Operator Card preferred, but not required to start

For this position you will use company equipment including:

• Commercial water tanker truck
• Heavy-duty commercial vehicle equipment
• Radio and field communication systems
• Vehicle inspection and safety equipment
