Camp Clerk Job Description

Position: Camp Clerk

Position Summary

The Camp Clerk provides administrative and customer service support to ensure the smooth daily operation of the campground office. This position serves as the first point of contact for campers and visitors, assisting families with reservations, check-in and check-out, answering questions, and providing excellent customer service. The Camp Clerk must be organized, detail-oriented, and able to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a friendly and professional attitude.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Greet campers and visitors in a courteous, professional, and welcoming manner.
  • Provide exceptional customer service by assisting guests with questions, concerns, and campground information.
  • Assist families with campsite reservations, registrations, and check-in/check-out procedures.
  • Answer incoming phone calls and respond to inquiries accurately and professionally.
  • Perform accurate data entry for reservations, payments, customer information, and campground records.
  • Process payments and maintain accurate cash handling procedures.
  • Maintain organized files and office records.
  • Communicate campground policies, procedures, and safety information to guests.
  • Resolve customer concerns or refer issues to management as needed.
  • Assist with general office duties, including filing, copying, and maintaining office supplies.
  • Work collaboratively with campground staff to ensure a positive guest experience.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience with data entry and basic computer applications.
  • Ability to answer multiple phone lines professionally.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a busy office environment.
  • Cash handling experience is preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Work Schedule

  • Must be flexible to work both opening and closing shifts.
  • Availability to work every weekend is required.
  • Holiday availability may be required based on campground operations.
  • Schedule may vary based on seasonal business needs.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Ability to perform repetitive keyboarding and data entry tasks.
  • Ability to work in both indoor office and outdoor campground environments as needed.
