Salary: $25.00+/Hour
We are seeking an experienced Bookkeeper to join a well-established organization in Chatham on a long-term contract basis. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented accounting professional with a strong background in full-cycle bookkeeping, preferably within a construction or project-based environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform full-cycle bookkeeping, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger maintenance
- Prepare journal entries, reconciliations, and assist with month-end close
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records
- Work within Axis (construction-focused accounting software) for daily accounting tasks
- Provide payroll backup support as required (primary payroll handled by other team members)
- Assist with administrative duties as needed to support the accounting team
Qualifications:
- 3–5 years of bookkeeping experience, with preference given to candidates closer to 5 years
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and best practices
- Experience using accounting software; prior exposure to Axis or construction accounting systems is an asset
- High attention to detail with strong organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to work independently and collaborate with a team in an in-office environment
Wage: $25.00+/Hour (Based on Experience)
