Position Summary

The Elevator Repair & Installation Technician will be responsible for the installation, repair, modernization, troubleshooting, and maintenance of elevators and related vertical transportation systems. This position will work independently and as part of a team on new construction, renovation, and service projects throughout New Jersey.

Key Responsibilities

• Install elevators, lifts, and related equipment for new construction projects.
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain hydraulic and traction elevator systems.
• Perform preventative maintenance and safety inspections.
• Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical manuals.
• Install, repair, and troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic components.
• Test equipment following installation or repairs to ensure proper and safe operation.
• Ensure all work complies with applicable building codes, safety regulations, elevator codes, and company standards.
• Communicate professionally with customers, project managers, contractors, and fellow technicians.
• Complete service reports, maintenance records, and other required documentation accurately.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Travel to various commercial, industrial, and institutional job sites throughout New Jersey.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of elevator installation, repair, maintenance, or modernization experience preferred.
• Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to read and understand blueprints, electrical schematics, and technical documentation.
• Knowledge of elevator safety codes, building codes, and industry standards.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and work safely in construction and maintenance environments.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• OSHA certification is a plus.
• Elevator mechanic license/certification, where applicable, is a plus.
