Express Employment Professionals is seeking dependable Food Service Workers to join a school food service team in the East Lansing area. This is a great opportunity for someone with previous food service experience who enjoys working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment and wants a consistent Monday–Friday schedule.

The Food Service Worker will assist with daily cafeteria operations, food preparation, serving students and staff, maintaining cleanliness, and following all food safety and sanitation procedures.

Responsibilities

Assist with basic food preparation and meal service
Serve food to students and staff in a friendly and professional manner
Help set up and maintain cafeteria and food service areas
Keep work areas, counters, equipment, and dining areas clean and sanitary
Follow proper food handling, safety, and sanitation procedures
Assist with washing dishes and cleaning kitchen equipment as needed
Restock food, supplies, and service areas
Work effectively with other food service team members
Follow school and food service guidelines and procedures
Perform other general food service duties as assigned

Requirements

At least 1 year of food service experience required
Fast food, restaurant, cafeteria, catering, or similar experience is acceptable
Reliable and punctual
Comfortable working around children and in a school environment
Able to work Monday–Friday from 9:00 AM–1:00 PM
Able to work as part of a team
Must be able to successfully complete a background check

Dress Code

Employees are required to report to work in the following attire:

Closed-toe shoes
Khaki pants or Dockers
No jeans
A T-shirt and apron will be provided
