Safety Technician – Trailer Manufacturing

Position Summary

The Safety Technician is responsible for helping maintain a safe, compliant, and productive manufacturing environment. This position works closely with employees and management to identify hazards, promote safe work practices, and support the company's overall safety program.

Job Duties

  • Conduct routine safety inspections throughout the trailer manufacturing facility.

  • Identify potential workplace hazards and recommend corrective actions.

  • Monitor employees for compliance with company safety policies and PPE requirements.

  • Assist with safety training, orientations, and toolbox talks.

  • Help investigate workplace accidents, injuries, and near misses and document findings.

  • Maintain safety records, inspection reports, and required documentation.

  • Assist with OSHA compliance and implementation of safety procedures.

  • Monitor proper use of PPE, machine guarding, lockout/tagout, and other safety practices.

  • Assist with emergency preparedness, evacuation procedures, and safety drills.

  • Work with supervisors to correct unsafe conditions and behaviors.

  • Help communicate safety expectations and reinforce a strong safety culture.

  • Assist with workers' compensation documentation and injury follow-up as needed.

  • Conduct or assist with job hazard analyses and safety assessments.

  • Help maintain Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and other regulatory documentation.

  • Perform other safety-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in manufacturing, construction, industrial safety, or a related field preferred.

  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations and workplace safety practices preferred.

  • Strong communication and organizational skills.

  • Ability to identify hazards and address safety concerns professionally.

  • Comfortable working directly with employees and management.

  • Strong attention to detail and follow-through.

  • Basic computer skills and ability to maintain accurate records.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to walk and stand throughout a manufacturing facility for extended periods.

  • Ability to climb stairs, bend, kneel, and navigate around manufacturing equipment.

  • Ability to work around noise, dust, machinery, welding operations, and varying temperatures.

  • Ability to wear required PPE while working on the manufacturing floor.
