The Safety Technician is responsible for helping maintain a safe, compliant, and productive manufacturing environment. This position works closely with employees and management to identify hazards, promote safe work practices, and support the company's overall safety program.
Conduct routine safety inspections throughout the trailer manufacturing facility.
Identify potential workplace hazards and recommend corrective actions.
Monitor employees for compliance with company safety policies and PPE requirements.
Assist with safety training, orientations, and toolbox talks.
Help investigate workplace accidents, injuries, and near misses and document findings.
Maintain safety records, inspection reports, and required documentation.
Assist with OSHA compliance and implementation of safety procedures.
Monitor proper use of PPE, machine guarding, lockout/tagout, and other safety practices.
Assist with emergency preparedness, evacuation procedures, and safety drills.
Work with supervisors to correct unsafe conditions and behaviors.
Help communicate safety expectations and reinforce a strong safety culture.
Assist with workers' compensation documentation and injury follow-up as needed.
Conduct or assist with job hazard analyses and safety assessments.
Help maintain Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and other regulatory documentation.
Perform other safety-related duties as assigned.
Previous experience in manufacturing, construction, industrial safety, or a related field preferred.
Knowledge of OSHA regulations and workplace safety practices preferred.
Strong communication and organizational skills.
Ability to identify hazards and address safety concerns professionally.
Comfortable working directly with employees and management.
Strong attention to detail and follow-through.
Basic computer skills and ability to maintain accurate records.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Ability to walk and stand throughout a manufacturing facility for extended periods.
Ability to climb stairs, bend, kneel, and navigate around manufacturing equipment.
Ability to work around noise, dust, machinery, welding operations, and varying temperatures.
Ability to wear required PPE while working on the manufacturing floor.
The ideal candidate is safety-minded, approachable, detail-oriented, and comfortable speaking up when something isn't safe. They should be able to build positive relationships with employees while consistently reinforcing safety standards and procedures.
