Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior CNC Turning Programmer / Setup Machinist to take ownership of CNC programming, machine setup, prove-out, process development, quality, troubleshooting, and operator training.

The ideal candidate will have extensive CNC turning experience and hands-on knowledge of Mazak and MAZATROL conversational programming. This position will work with a Mazak Slant Turn 600 heavy-duty turning center and is ideal for someone who can independently set up and run complex turning operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Create and modify MAZATROL SmoothG and EIA/ISO programs
• Plan machining sequences, tooling, inserts, speeds/feeds, workholding, offsets, and inspection points
• Set up, prove out, and operate turning, facing, boring, drilling, grooving, tapering, and threading operations
• Work safely with heavy and/or long workpieces, including proper clamping, support, clearance, and material handling
• Troubleshoot chatter, tool wear, dimensional variation, surface finish issues, alarms, and process instability
• Verify first-piece and in-process quality
• Maintain traceability and accurate part documentation
• Create setup sheets and train CNC Operators/Machinists
• Support tooling selection, continuous improvement, and preventative-care activities

Requirements

• 5+ years of verifiable CNC turning experience
• Programming, setup, troubleshooting, and operation experience
• Hands-on Mazak / MAZATROL experience; SmoothG strongly preferred
• Working knowledge of EIA/ISO G-code editing and program prove-out
• Ability to independently set up machines from engineering drawings and raw materials
• Large-diameter and/or long-part turning experience strongly preferred
• Experience with threading, chucking, tailstock, and steady rests preferred
• Ability to read blueprints, tolerances, and perform precision inspections
• High school diploma or equivalent; technical training preferred

Safety & Physical Requirements

• Follow PPE, guarding, lockout/tagout, lifting, and material-handling requirements
• Safely work around heavy machinery and workpieces
• Use approved lifting equipment when handling heavy materials and tooling
• Ability to work in a manufacturing environment

Pay

$34.00–$39.00/hour
