Staff Accountant / Accounts Payable

Asheville, NC | $20-$25/hr DOE | Monday-Friday | Full-Time

Are you looking for an accounting position where you can make an impact while continuing to grow your career? Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant / Accounts Payable professional to join their finance team. This is a permanent opportunity with a respected nonprofit organization serving Western North Carolina.

What You'll Do

• Process Accounts Payable and weekly payment runs
• Prepare journal entries and general ledger reconciliations
• Reconcile bank and investment accounts
• Assist with month-end and year-end close
• Maintain vendor records, W-9s, and Certificates of Insurance
• Support audits, tax reporting, and financial reporting
• Assist with grant financial analysis

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
• 1-3 years of accounting experience
• Knowledge of GAAP
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and accounting software
• Experience with Blackbaud Financial Edge is a plus

Schedule

• Monday-Friday
• 8:00 AM-5:00 PM
• Primarily onsite with flexibility to work remotely during inclement weather when needed

Pay & Benefits

• $20-$25/hour DOE
