Optical Sales Associate – Temp-to-Hire

Location: Annapolis, MD
Pay: $18–$20 per hour
Schedule: Approximately 30 hours per week

A locally owned optometry practice in Annapolis is seeking a friendly, outgoing Optical Sales Associate to help patients select and purchase eyeglasses. This is a highly interactive position involving one-on-one patient service, product recommendations, frame selection, and fitting.

Previous optical experience is helpful but not required. The practice is willing to train the right person with strong sales and people skills.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and provide friendly, attentive service
• Engage with patients to understand their preferences and needs
• Assist with selecting eyeglass frames
• Recommend products and explain available options
• Support frame fitting and adjustments after training
• Help maintain an organized and attractive optical dispensary
• Provide a positive experience throughout the selection and purchasing process
• Complete other office and customer-service duties as needed

Qualifications

• Strong sales and customer-service skills
• Confident initiating conversations and making recommendations
• Comfortable working one-on-one with patients
• Friendly, professional, and dependable
• Able to learn optical products, frame fitting, and office procedures
• Detail-oriented with good communication skills
• Optical, eyewear, retail, or healthcare experience is helpful but not required

Schedule

• Tuesday and Wednesday: 11:30 a.m.–7:00 p.m.
• Thursday and Friday: 8:30 a.m.–4:00 p.m.
• One Saturday per month: 8:30 a.m.–2:00 p.m.
• Closed Sundays and Mondays
• Approximately 30 hours per week, with additional hours during the scheduled Saturday week
• Occasional additional training hours may be available

The Saturday schedule is established in advance for the entire year. The closing time may occasionally run slightly later when assisting a patient.
