Accountant – Cost Accounting (Manufacturing)

The Staff Accountant is responsible for supporting the organization's accounting and financial reporting functions, with a primary focus on cost accounting in a manufacturing environment. This role ensures accurate inventory valuation, product costing, and financial reporting while partnering with operations to analyze manufacturing costs and identify opportunities for improved efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

* Maintain and analyze standard costs, inventory, and manufacturing variances.
* Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end close activities.
* Monitor inventory transactions and support physical inventory counts and cycle counts.
* Assist with cost rollups, BOM reviews, and inventory valuation.
* Analyze production costs, labor, overhead, and material usage to identify trends and cost-saving opportunities.
* Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
* Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal accounting controls.
* Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, supply chain, and finance teams to improve processes and reporting accuracy.

Qualifications:
* 2–5+ years of accounting experience, including cost accounting in a manufacturing environment.
* Strong understanding of inventory accounting, standard costing, and variance analysis.
* Experience with ERP systems and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
* Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities with excellent attention to detail.
