A growing manufacturing organization in the San Jose metro area is seeking a hands-on Material Preparation & Inventory Coordinator to support daily material flow, inventory accuracy, and production readiness. This position plays a critical role in receiving, inspecting, cutting, staging, and tracking raw materials used in manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate has experience working with raw metals, inventory systems, and production schedules in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented professional who enjoys working closely with production, warehouse, and supply chain teams to ensure on-time manufacturing operations.
Duties
- Receive, inspect, and verify incoming raw material shipments against purchase orders, packing slips, and specifications
- Manage material certifications and documentation to maintain quality standards and product traceability
- Measure and cut raw metal materials to required lengths using a horizontal band saw
- Review production schedules and stage materials to ensure machines have the necessary inventory to support operations
- Maintain accurate lot traceability from incoming materials through production and finished goods inventory
- Process inventory transactions and manage material movement using ERP or inventory management systems
- Perform cycle counts, investigate inventory variances, and support inventory accuracy initiatives
- Collaborate with production, shipping, and procurement teams to prevent material shortages and production delays
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in inventory control, manufacturing support, warehouse operations, or material coordination
- Hands-on experience operating a horizontal band saw to measure and cut raw metal materials
- Experience issuing, kitting, and staging materials according to production schedules and work orders
- Ability to read and interpret production routings, schedules, and material requirements
- Working knowledge of inventory control best practices, including cycle counting and reconciliation
- Experience using ERP, MRP, or warehouse management systems such as SAP, Oracle, Epicor, or similar platforms
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently in a manufacturing environment
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
