Machine Operator

Full-Time | Manufacturing | Rome, NY

Summary
We are seeking a few Machine Operators to set up, maintain, and operate production machinery. This role requires strong attention to detail, commitment to safety, and the ability to work closely with a team. The goal is to ensure smooth production processes that maximize efficiency and output.

Responsibilities

• Set up machines (calibration, cleaning, preparation)
• Adjust machine settings (speed, tension, alignment)
• Feed raw materials into semi‑automated equipment
• Inspect parts using calipers, micrometers, and precision tools
• Perform periodic machine tests
• Troubleshoot issues during production
• Identify defects and ensure quality standards
• Maintain production logs and documentation

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of experience as a respool operator or similar role
• Experience with high‑speed machinery and measurement tools
• Understanding of wire production, gauges, and related processes
• Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and manuals
• Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
• Effective communication and teamwork

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand for long periods
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs regularly
• Ability to identify and respond to hazards

Hours:

• 1st shift: 6:30am-7pm
• 2nd shift: 6:30pm-7am (Training will be on 1st Shift)
• Each month the schedule shifts days as follows: Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, following month switching to Thursday, Friday and Saturday

Pay Rates: $18-$19
