Auto Dismantler / Scrap Yard Laborer

Location: Local Scrap Yard
Pay: $16.00 - $17.00 per hour (based on experience)
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM, with occasional Saturdays from 8:00 AM - 12:00 PM

Job Summary

We are seeking a dependable and hardworking Auto Dismantler to join our team. The ideal candidate will have basic automotive knowledge and be comfortable working in an outdoor scrap yard environment. This position involves dismantling vehicles, removing reusable parts, and preparing vehicles for recycling while following all safety and environmental procedures.

Responsibilities

• Drain fluids from vehicles, including oil, coolant, fuel, and transmission fluid.
• Remove wheels, tires, batteries, and other vehicle components.
• Dismantle vehicles using hand tools, power tools, and other shop equipment.
• Identify and remove reusable automotive parts.
• Sort and organize parts and materials for inventory or recycling.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area.
• Follow all safety and environmental regulations.
• Assist with other scrap yard duties as needed.

Qualifications

• Basic automotive knowledge required.
• Experience working on vehicles preferred but not required.
• Ability to use hand and power tools safely.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical labor throughout the day.
• Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently.
• Must be able to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
