Fraud & Dispute Specialist

Location: Bettendorf, IA 52722 – Home Office

Position Summary

Responsible for investigating, monitoring, and resolving fraud and member disputes while protecting members and minimizing financial risk. This position works directly with members and employees, ensures compliance with applicable regulations and card network rules, and maintains accurate documentation throughout the investigation and resolution process.

 

Key Responsibilities

• Process, investigate, and monitor member disputes and fraud claims.
• Communicate with members regarding case status, documentation, and resolution timelines.
• Monitor account and transaction activity for potential fraud or account compromise.
• Investigate check fraud, wire fraud, identity theft, account takeover, and returned deposit items.
• Escalate BSA/AML and OFAC concerns appropriately.
• Assist with card compromise events and fraud prevention initiatives.
• Analyze fraud activity and trends and prepare reports for leadership.
• Maintain accurate and confidential records related to investigations, disputes, and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 3–5 years of financial industry experience preferred.
• Strong communication, organization, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Knowledge of credit union operations and financial services regulations preferred.
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
• Strong customer service skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team.
