The General Labor position consists of brick handling, brick packaging, and brick cutting. This is a fast-paced position and is also an incentive-based position once the probationary period is completed.

As a Window Patching Operator, you will be responsible for setting up, operating, inspecting, and performing minor repairs on window patching machines. Window patching machines apply cellophane windows to folding cartons.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1) Inspect, sort, and blend various types of fired brick in a safe manner. Assure that color, size, quantity, and quality meet required daily production levels as well as applicable A.S.T.M. standards.
2) Assist in packing off-grade products such as culls and “S” grade product.
3) Stock packaging machine with paper, veneer boards, etc.
4) Assist in operation of unloading crane, packaging machine and kiln car clean up when necessary.
This job description is not intended to be all inclusive, and as such, the employee will also be required to perform other reasonably related business duties as may be assigned by the immediate supervisor, lead person, and/or other management personnel as required.
REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES
1) Ability to physically handle brick daily at a rate consistent with the packaging crew.
2) Ability to understand quality standards and their difference for various types of brick.
3) Willingness to learn and take direction.
4) Commitment to meet production requirements and quality goals through teamwork.
QUALIFICATIONS
1) High School Diploma, G.E.D., or plant experience.
2) Must pass a color blindness test.
