Accounting Technician

Location: Winona, MN
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-4:30 PM
Pay: $26.49/hour
Position Type: Temporary (Part-Time or Full-Time)
Duration: Up to 3 Months (Reviewed Every 30 Days)

Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Technician to provide temporary support with tax, property, and financial record functions. The ideal candidate will have experience working with financial data, property records, or tax-related processes and possess a strong commitment to accuracy and confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Assist with tax calculations, adjustments, and record maintenance.
• Review and interpret legal descriptions of property.
• Enter, update, and verify financial and property-related information.
• Research and resolve discrepancies in records and documentation.
• Support reporting and documentation efforts.
• Assist with customer and internal inquiries regarding tax and property records.
• Maintain accurate, organized, and confidential records.
• Perform additional administrative and accounting support duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required:

• High attention to detail and accuracy.
• Experience reading and interpreting legal descriptions.
• Experience with tax calculations.
• Strong organizational and data entry skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
• Ability to work independently and handle confidential information.

Preferred:

• Accounting, bookkeeping, finance, or related background.
• Experience in property tax, real estate, title, assessor, auditor, or government office environments.
• Associate degree or coursework in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.
