Position Summary
The Big Red Forklift Operator is responsible for safely operating a large-capacity forklift to load, unload, move, stack, and organize materials throughout warehouse, yard, manufacturing, or distribution environments. This role requires a strong commitment to safety, attention to detail, and the ability to efficiently handle heavy or oversized loads while maintaining productivity standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Operate a Big Red forklift and other material handling equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Load and unload trucks, trailers, containers, and storage areas.
  • Transport materials, products, and equipment throughout the facility or job site.
  • Stack and store materials in designated locations while maintaining inventory accuracy.
  • Conduct pre-shift and post-shift equipment inspections and report maintenance needs promptly.
  • Follow all company safety procedures, OSHA regulations, and operating guidelines.
  • Assist with inventory counts and material tracking as required.
  • Maintain clean and organized work areas.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Previous forklift operating experience required; experience with large-capacity or heavy-duty forklifts preferred.
  • Valid forklift certification or ability to obtain certification.
  • Ability to read and understand work orders, shipping documents, and safety procedures.
