Polymer Technician – Chemical Processing $20+ based on experience 

Location: Gulfport, Mississippi

Must be available to work overtime and weekend schedules 

Position Summary

We are seeking a hands-on Polymer Technician to support the production of specialized polymer materials through the controlled mixing and processing of chemical compounds. The position involves accurately measuring, combining, and processing raw chemical materials according to established formulas, procedures, and specifications.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, comfortable working with chemicals, and able to consistently follow precise manufacturing instructions and safety procedures.

Key Responsibilities
Measure and combine chemical raw materials according to established formulas and batch specifications.
Operate mixing, blending, and processing equipment used in polymer production.
Accurately weigh and dispense resins, additives, catalysts, curing agents, solvents, and other production materials.
Follow batch sheets, work instructions, formulas, and process specifications.
Monitor mixing times, temperatures, viscosities, and other process conditions.
Make controlled adjustments to batches as directed by established procedures.
Collect samples and perform basic quality checks to verify material meets specifications.
Record batch information, material usage, measurements, and process data accurately.
Identify unusual material conditions, equipment issues, or batch inconsistencies and notify appropriate personnel.
Maintain proper labeling, storage, and handling of chemical materials.
Clean and maintain mixing equipment, containers, tools, and work areas.
Follow all applicable chemical handling, PPE, environmental, and workplace safety requirements.
Work closely with production, quality, and engineering personnel to maintain consistent product quality.
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED preferred.
Manufacturing, chemical processing, polymer, plastics, composites, coatings, or related experience preferred.
Strong ability to follow detailed written procedures and formulas.
Basic math skills with the ability to accurately calculate weights, measurements, ratios, and quantities.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to batch accuracy.
Comfortable working around industrial chemicals and wearing required PPE.
Ability to operate or learn industrial mixing and processing equipment.
Good documentation and recordkeeping skills.
Reliable attendance and ability to work effectively as part of a production team.
Preferred Experience

Experience with any of the following is a plus:

Polymer or resin manufacturing
Chemical batching or blending
Industrial mixers
Epoxy, polyurethane, silicone, or other polymer systems
Resins, catalysts, curing agents, and additives
Chemical weighing and dispensing
Viscosity or temperature monitoring
Quality-control sampling
Manufacturing batch records
Composites, plastics, coatings, adhesives, or specialty chemicals
