Yard Jockey - 1st/2nd Shift

Salary: $25.00 per hour

Our client in Carver, MA is currently hiring a 1st/2nd shift Yard Jockey. This is a temporary position running from September 21st - November 6th. *Newly Licensed Class A Drivers Encouraged to Apply!

Available Shifts:

• 1st Shift: Monday-Friday and Saturday | 7:30am to 4:30pm
• 2nd Shift: Monday-Friday and Saturday | 2:00 PM – 10:00 PM
• Pay Rate: $25.00 per hour

Key Responsibilities:

• Safely and efficiently moving trailers and equipment throughout the yard, loading docks, and designated areas to support warehouse and transportation operations.
• Operate yard trucks to move trailers between docks, staging areas, and yard spaces
• Perform routine pre- and post-trip inspections of equipment
• Communicate with dispatchers, warehouse personnel, and drivers to coordinate trailer movements
• Maintain an organized yard to support efficient operations
• Verify trailer numbers, seals, and shipping documentation as needed
• Report equipment malfunctions or maintenance issues
• Follow all safety protocols and DOT regulations
• Assist with basic loading/unloading as required
• Keep work area clean and organized

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED (preferred)
• Previous experience as a yard jockey, yard driver, or switcher (preferred)
• Valid driver’s license required; CDL Class A is a plus but not mandatory
• Ability to safely operate yard trucks and other heavy equipment
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks as needed
