General Laborer

Our client in Iowa City, IA is looking for a General Laborer!

 

Position Summary: Our client is looking for a dependable and hardworking General Laborer to maintain the grounds surrounding their facility. This position will be responsible for cleaning up material that has blown away from curbside piles and keeping the property clean and presentable. The cleaning area includes the company’s property from Sixth Street down Ingleside Drive to the Hauling division, as well as the ditch along Sixth Street in front of the company’s trailers and both sides of Ingleside Drive. The company will provide all tools and equipment needed to complete the job. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working outdoors, staying active, and taking pride in maintaining a clean and organized work environment.

 

Key Responsibilities:

• Clean and maintain facility grounds and surrounding property
• Pick up and remove material that has blown away from curbside piles
• Clean the company’s property from Sixth Street down Ingleside Drive to the Hauling division
• Clean along the ditch on Sixth Street in front of the company’s trailers
• Clean both sides of Ingleside Drive
• Use company provided tools and equipment to complete grounds cleanup
• Keep outdoor areas clean, organized, and free of debris
• Safely collect, move, and dispose of materials and debris
• Follow all company safety procedures and properly use provided tools and equipment
• Work independently while completing assigned grounds cleaning duties
• Assist with additional facility grounds and cleanup duties as assigned

 

Qualifications:

• Previous grounds maintenance, janitorial, cleanup, or general labor experience is preferred
• Comfortable working outdoors for extended periods of time
• Ability to walk, stand, bend, lift, and carry materials as needed
• Dependable attendance and punctuality
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Strong attention to detail and pride in maintaining clean surroundings
• Ability to safely use hand tools and other equipment provided by the company
• Ability to follow safety procedures and workplace instructions

 

Hours:

• Monday – Friday
• 6am – 3pm
• If a holiday falls during the workweek, the following Saturday will be a required workday

 

Pay:

• $17/hour
