Finishing Operator

This position will be responsible for operating finishing equipment and preparing product for shipment to customers.

Schedule and Pay

• Monday – Friday; 6:00am – 2:30pm
• $20.50 per hour

What You Will Do

• Load and unload laminate reels on/off finishing machine equipment
• Closely monitor product quality, assuring first-quality material shipped to customers
• Report machine breakdowns/faults and possible quality defects
• Report process and/or mechanical difficulties
• Assist with packing of finished material
• General warehouse duties, including packaging and labeling product
• Operate forklift to move packaging materials, customer pallets, and stock reels within the warehouse environment
• Maintain a clean working environment in accordance with 5S/Continuous Improvement measures on-site, including cleaning of the warehouse
• Utilize order-based production software to properly trace customer orders and inventory movements
• Perform all duties in full compliance with all laws, safety and environmental regulations, and in a manner consistent with company policies and procedures
• Other tasks as assigned

Who You Are

• Reliable transportation
• Steel-toed boots
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
• Requires any combination of education and experience equivalent to a High School education and 1–2 years of work experience in an industrial setting
• Previous work experience in the paper/paper converting industry or with web-handling equipment is a plus, but not required
• Previous slitting/finishing of pressure-sensitive laminates preferred
• Ability to work well within a team required
• Well-developed problem-solving skills, including the ability and willingness to apply a systematic approach to the process
• Must be computer-literate
• Basic mechanical knowledge is an advantage
• Excellent oral and written communication skills, and the ability to understand and adhere to written work instructions
• Previous experience with industrial machinery
