Our client in Cedar Rapids is looking for a Reel Disposal Warehouse Associate!

 

Position Summary:

Our client is seeking a dependable and hardworking Warehouse Associate whose primary responsibility will be breaking down and disposing of empty wooden cable reels returned to the warehouse. Due to the large volume of empty reels received, this position will be primarily focused on reel breakdown and disposal. The ideal candidate will be comfortable using multiple power tools, performing repetitive physical work, and working independently to keep up with the volume of reels being returned.

 

Key Responsibilities:

• Break down empty wooden cable reels using appropriate power tools
• Cut reels into smaller, manageable pieces to maximize the amount of material that can fit into the dumpster
• Maintain enough production to help fill approximately one 40-yard dumpster per week
• Safely handle and move empty reels throughout the disposal area
• Keep the reel breakdown and dumpster area clean and organized
• Properly use and care for power tools and required PPE
• Follow all warehouse and power tool safety procedures
• When reel disposal work is caught up or the dumpster is full, assist with cutting and removing scrap wire from partial cable spools until reel disposal can resume

 

Qualifications:

• Comfortable using multiple types of power tools
• Able to perform repetitive physical work throughout the shift
• Able to lift, move, position, and break down wooden cable reels
• Strong awareness of power tool and warehouse safety
• Dependable and able to work independently without constant supervision
• Willing to perform outdoor or warehouse labor depending on where reels are staged
• Must be comfortable with a position that is primarily focused on reel breakdown and disposal

 

Hours:

• Monday–Friday: 6:30 AM – 5:00 PM
• Saturday: 6:30 AM – 3:00 PM
• Must be available to work Saturdays as required

 

Pay:

• $18.00 per hour
