Material Handler/Driver

Material Handler Job Summary:

A local manufacturer in Kentwood is seeking a dependable Material Handler to join their Shipping & Receiving team. This position plays a critical role in maintaining inventory accuracy, moving materials throughout the facility, and ensuring products are shipped and received efficiently. Material Handler Responsibilities:

• Assist with shipping and receiving activities, including unloading incoming shipments and verifying materials against purchase orders
• Inspect incoming materials for damage and report discrepancies
• Identify, label, and store materials in designated locations
• Perform cycle counts and assist with inventory management
• Operate sitdown forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment
• Move materials between storage areas, production departments, and loading docks
• Pull products using pick sheets and prepare orders for shipment
• Wrap, crate, and stage materials for outgoing shipments
• Complete documentation related to inventory and shipping transactions
• Using a company vehicle to move product between locations

Qualifications:

• Valid Driver's License required
• High School Diploma or GED
• 1–2 years of previous warehouse or manufacturing experience preferred
• Verifiable forklift experience required
• Basic computer and data entry skills required
• Experience with warehouse management software such as Epicor/Kinetics preferred
• Strong attention to detail when reading product codes, lot numbers, and shipping documents
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work with production teams, supervisors, and drivers
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Dependable and safety-focused

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand for up to 8 hours per shift
• Ability to regularly lift 30–50 pounds and occasionally up to 100 pounds
• Ability to work in a manufacturing and warehouse environment

Schedule & Pay:

• Monday-Friday 7:00 AM-3:30 PM, Flexible with start time 
• $20.00/HR
